Memories

Located near the end of the exhibition hall, "Memories" consists of a machine with a map of Singapore and Malaya that allows visitors to hear the interviews with people who survived the Occupation. These interviews allow visitors to better understand the events that took place prior to the Occupation as well as the different aspects of the Japaense Occupation. When the recordings of the interviews are being played, the location where the events took place will be marked on the map.

Listen to the recordings and discover a wide range of emotions underlined by the tone of the interviewees as they described the events. Through these recordings, obtain a better understanding of how the people who lived through those events felt at that time and the lessons they learnt.
